The Archaeology of the Anglo-Saxon Church

The 2005 Society for Church Archaeology annual conference will be held at Bede's World, Jarrow, over the weekend September 30th - October 2nd. The conference is entitled The Archaeology of the Anglo-Saxon Church.

This year's conference focuses on the archaeology of the Anglo-Saxon church and draws upon the findings of excavation work, analytical investigation and recent studies into the broader aspects of the Church in Anglo-Saxon society. Some of this work has only recently been undertaken and the meeting will provide the opportunity for new discoveries, research and insights to be outlined.
